Goedhuis, July 2023
Muscadet has seen quality improve in leaps and bounds recently and is rightly regaining ground as a go-to region for brilliant value, light whites. The 2022 from Ménard-Gaborit is a fabulous, quality driven wine and represents truly outstanding value. This has pure Atlantic Ocean influence and putting your nose in the glass is like breathing in a refreshing salty sea breeze. The palate is tingling with minerals and brings together plenty of fresh lemons, grapefruits and apples. Aged for six months on the fine lees, it has a delightfully supple texture. Pure and lively.

Domaine Ménard-Gaborit
This Muscadet domaine dates back to the mid 18th century. The estate still remains within the family, which is situated in the heart of the appelation around the Moulin de la Minière in the far west of the Loire River. It now encompasses 73 hecatres, and winemaking skills have been passed down from father to son for generations.Region
Muscadet
Extending inland across rolling plains from the mouth of the Loire at Nantes, wine production in the Muscadet region is undergoing a revolution. Historically, neutral wines with searing acidity were wine list staples in the local bistro. Now a band of artisan producers are striving to shake off that image with some outstanding hand-crafted wines. The distinctly marginal Maritime climate can result in delicate whites with racy finesse. The best Muscadet wines come from the sub-region of Sevre et Maine and are matured "sur lie" (on the lees).
