Goedhuis Team

Charlie joined the team in 2011 with a twenty year background in wholesale, fine wine retail and private client sales. Coming from a slightly more diverse angle meant that he has experience in many of the world’s wine regions outside of the more traditional strongholds of Burgundy and Bordeaux.

His real passions are Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. The ‘Super Tuscan’ wines of coastal Italy captivate him, but it’s the southerly Tuscan climes of Montalcino that truly thrill Charlie and consequently it’s an area that he gravitates towards and travels to extensively each year. Outside of Italy he adores mature Pauillac and St Julien (don’t we all) and loves a fine Napa Valley Cab all of which feature heavily in his own cellar. He cannot forget Burgundy, which is ‘unbeatable when it’s good’, and in a firm like Goedhuis, with the growers we have on board, it frequently is.

Charlie is married and lives in Hampshire with his two lovely daughters, who collectively keep him on his toes and do their level best to curtail his other loves; cricket (playing & watching) and Bath rugby.
